• Copy the zip file manager into your sdcard
• Reboot your device into recovery mode
• Choose install from sdcard

Android Pattern Unlock Using AROMA File Manager

Android pattern lock forgot issues happen with everyone. In most cases, you need to reset your phone or use your Gmail account to reset your pattern lock.

Here, we are explaining a method to reset your phone pattern using aroma file manager.

Aroma file manager is a recovery based file manager for Android devices. This is not one of those typical applications which you can install and run in your OS. This file manager is what you use to access your filesystem when you are in recovery mode. If you don’t have much experience with ROMs, recovery, bootloader, etc. then you must be wondering why would anyone need to access their files via recovery mode when they can just boot the device and use any regular file manager application.

Truth be told, there are various situations in which you might need to use something like aroma file manager app.

One of the most common and useful things you can do with this CWM app is to reset your android pattern to unlock your phone!

How to Unlock Android Pattern Using AROMA File Manager

There are methods to reset your android pattern lock using aroma file manager. But for this to be done, your phone needs to be rooted. Obviously, you can’t install a custom recovery like CWM, Philz, etc. if you haven’t unlocked your Android phone’s bootloader.

Let me go through the exact theoretical steps which you have to follow if you like to reset forgotten Android pattern lock. I mentioned theoretical because this method might not work on all devices. Chances are, this might work in very few phones only. Try your luck. The phone have to be rooted, and bootloader unlocked for this to work

First, download and install AROMA file manager ZIP from here.

Now go to your recovery and flash this ZIP file. You can find many tutorials online on how to flash a ZIP file.

Once you flash it, recovery file will open.

Now go to Menu -> Settings -> Automount all devices on startup.

Exit the aroma file manager.

Flash it again

Now find the file named ‘gesture.key’ located in data/system
It might be in sd-ext/system/ also. So try that folder too.

Delete that file and reboot your phone

When your phone boots, you can see it is again asking for lock pattern.

Just draw any pattern, and it will open.

Then you can go to settings -> security to set a new pattern lock.
