Why does my brightness keep going down?

Auto-Brightness

Just like any other android device, iOS devices are also supported with the auto-brightness feature. As good as this feature sounds, tech can sometimes go wrong as well. Imagine the brightness to be at the lowest when you want it to be at 30%; well, it might end up irritating you. This is the main reason why people keep complaining about how their iPhone brightness keeps changing.

The best way to deal with the scenario is to turn off the auto-brightness feature. To do so, follow the steps mentioned below –

  • Visit Settings. Look out for Accessibility and click on Display & Text Size.
  • Here, you can find Auto-Brightness.
  • Turn off the switch next to it.

However, Apple, with its smart tech, takes care of the battery’s health. When you turn off features like auto-brightness, you can severely affect the battery’s life. Therefore, it is recommended to keep the brightness at a lower level as much as possible.

Night Shift is on

One of many amazing features of the iPhone, the night shift mode allows the user to make the display warmer, making it easier for the users to focus on the screen. This extra warmness on the screen can deem the brightness at the same time. Another reason why users opt for the night shift mode is to fall asleep easily after using the device and not stress their eyes. If you are looking to enhance the brightness, then it is best to turn the night shift off.

The process is simple. Visit Settings >> Display & Brightness >> Night Shift. Here, you will find the option to turn off the feature. However, the feature can be scheduled daily, and thus, you might have to repeat the process daily. The best action is to turn off the scheduled time as well to avoid the hustle of doing the same chore every day.

True Tone is on

All the features mentioned till now are used to make the experience enlightening for the users. True Tone is a special feature, which enables the display to adapt to the surrounding lighting conditions. Even though it might seem that the display is getting dimmer, it might not be so.

However, you can turn it off by visiting Settings.

In case if none of the tactics work for you, then there might be a software problem with your device. It is advised to restart your iPhone or lookout for a software update.
