What is ConfigAPK app? Do I Need To Remove It?

Android Package also commonly known as APK is known to be the application format that is generally used by Android OS mainly for distribution and installing all the Android apps. ConfigAPK is a system app that is used by Android 5.0 and all the latest versions. It’s mainly responsible for handling the automatic installation of the app during the initial setup of the device.

The ConfigAPK is visible in the common list of running background apps but there’s nothing to be worried about.

Is it true that ConfigAPK uses Any Android App Permissions?

There is no requirement for the permissions from any app for ConfigAPK. Although you can check it by following some of the steps mentioned below:

  1. Go to the settings option.
  2. Click on the apps.
  3. On the top right corner, you can click on the three vertical dots.
  4. Click on the system’s apps.
  5. After finding it you can click on ConfigAPK.
  6. You have to scroll down, tap and avail of permissions.

How to resolve battery draining issues due to ConfigAPK?

The small system app, ConfigAPK, consumes less than 1 MB of the storage space of your system. This app is available in all the new Android operating systems which means that it has been installed on millions of devices.

The developers usually address bugs of the app which drains the battery excessively but as of now, any official statement is yet to come and also it is usually not seen that it consumes a high battery.

Although some people said that ConfigAPK actively consumes a high battery and uses devices a lot which is because the devices start working slowly. This might be true but it happens rarely.

Can I uninstall ConfigAPK?

 ConfigAPK is not likely to cause any issues and it is not recommended to remove this since it’s a system app. You are not required either to disable or uninstall any app of the system until you have a reasonable reason for it. And often after deleting any of the system apps, there is a higher risk that your device can become unstable.

Is ConfigAPK considered a virus?

There are a lot of issues among android users regarding the apps of the system. Some of the android company phones like Samsung comes with several pre·installed Bloatware. But system apps are regarded as important and they are not likely to cause any issue.

ConfigAPK which is a system app has the responsibility for multiple tasks about the installation of many apps getting automatically downloaded. Although there’s nothing to worry about since it’s free of any malware, virus and spyware.

Are APK files considered legal?

APK files are considered completely legal. This is regarded as the native format of the file which is used by the developers for the packaging of an Android app. Most importantly it is noteworthy to mention that it is also used by Google. The literal meaning of the APK means the original format of the particular file and it does not say anything about the legal terms about its contents.
