So, What is Actually the Unified Deamon App and What does it do?
Unified daemon app is a background application which is pre-installed in your smartphone and it helps to manage intervals of data usage by other system apps like the weather widget or news updates applications.
What it does is, it controls the refresh rates of such applications which require constant data usage to update their data and content.
It is used to control the functioning of mainly inbuilt applications of an operating system like camera or Alarm or a weather widget and calendars etc.
So, like all other smartphone applications sometimes this unified daemon stops working.
It can be due to a lost connection or maybe due to some virus or an unwanted file or restricted data usage access to the application.
You will not find this type of application in all the android devices, but especially in Samsung devices running on Samsung experience UI in some selected models, this application can be seen.
Problems related to Unified daemon
Unwanted High Data Usage
Sometimes this inbuilt application seems to have a hefty share of your battery/data usage. Although the main aim of this application is to provide support to the other apps which require internet access on a regular interval. It controls the intervals for different applications. It is like a data manager.
But the problem arises when this manager itself consume a whole amount of data.
To solve this problem of excess data consumption by Unified daemon app you can do two things.
You can clear the cache and restart the applications because sometimes the apps get stuck due to some error which makes it consume more data.
You can change the data access to custom or completely restrict background data. In this case, your applications which were previously automatically updating will now update only when you open them or click on them.
To restrict background data usage
Go to Setting>>Apps>>Unified Daemon App>> Disable Background data usage.
