The aroma file manager is what you use to access your filesystem when you are in recovery mode. Chances are, this might work in very few phones only. Try your luck. The phone have to be rooted, and bootloader unlocked for this to work
First, download and install AROMA file manager ZIP from here.
Now go to your recovery and flash this ZIP file. You can find many tutorials online on how to flash a ZIP file.
Once you flash it, recovery file will open.
Now go to Menu -> Settings -> Automount all devices on startup.
Exit the aroma file manager.
Flash it again
Now find the file named ‘gesture.key’ located in data/system
It might be in sd-ext/system/ also. So try that folder too.
Delete that file and reboot your phone
When your phone boots, you can see it is again asking for lock pattern.
Just draw any pattern, and it will open.
Then you can go to settings -> security to set a new pattern lock.
Please keep in mind that this method may not work on all the phones. All the best!
