NanoCell and an OLED? Which is better?

Last updated on November 23, 2021 By Abhijith V M Leave a Comment

The TVs with NanoCell use displays with Backlit LED-LCD for special coating of a sharper image. On the other hand, OLED is altogether a different technology and OLED TVs possess the potential to emit light on their own.

There are lots of differences between both of them, but among them, the most noteworthy is that the OLED TVs offer you the best quality of the picture whereas NanoCell TVs are comparatively later.

What is special about NanoCell technology?

The NanoCell technology absorbs all the unwanted wavelengths of light with the help of their particles and also improves the purity of the red and green colours when it gets displayed on your screen.

They are known for offering more accurate, subtler colours which appear more natural even at wider viewing angles. NanoCell constitutes more colours in comparison to other LCD screens.

Over one billion different colours are supported by NanoCell. A cool chart is also provided by LG for showcasing which light is being filtered on the display.

The unrequired additional light wavelength is easily absorbed by the nanoparticles and the colour bleed is cut down from RGB colours which are displayed on your screen. These displays are capable of creating more natural colours along with narrower bands.

It is because most of the colours originate from red, green, and blue.  After bleeding off a colour by a pixel, it blends in one of these three colours and the exact colours don’t get displayed because of this. It cannot display multiple colours that’s why the image doesn’t appear more realistic.

What are some of the notable features of OLED?

The term ‘OLED’ means Organic Light Emitting Diode. One of the most notable features of it is that these displays are self-illuminating hence eliminating the requirement of LED backlighting.

This enhances the scope of performance improvement. Moreover, it also offers views from wider angles in comparison to LCD TVs. The screen is as thin as 8mm and can be easily used in curved televisions.

OLED displays offer supreme image quality. The response time of the OLED is as low as .001ms. That’s why it is used by most consumers.

Which is better between a Nano cell and an OLED?

OLED displays are considered to be better since they can turn the pixels off individually including the instant response time. It also offers wider viewing angles as well as quality colour accuracy.

The users who prefer increased brightness choose NanoCell and meanwhile, it also eliminates the risk of image burn from a very static image. NanoCells are comparatively more transmissive since they use LED-LCDs.

OLED displays are generally emissions since it helps in the emission of light from each pixel with altogether different colour as well as intensity. A lot of light is produced by the backlight which makes the content of the display even brighter.

By the end of this article, all information regarding what is the distinction between Nano cell and OLED would be briefed.
