With a high-quality camera, it is possible for every user to run low on their iPhone storage space. This is a well-claimed proposition that suggests that every iOS user has to face storage issues if they haven’t spent a good amount on extra storage.  Well, the only possible way to deal with it is to delete the videos and photos on your device or back them up on your iCloud. However, what if the device doesn’t let you delete photos? Well, this would be a terrible problem as the empty storage message will keep on prompting on your screen.

Therefore, this article will help with finding solutions for ‘iPhone won’t let me delete photos’. Before moving forward, let’s find out the reason why iPhone doesn’t allow you to delete photos.

Why iPhone won’t let me delete photos?

There might be two reasons why your iPhone won’t let you delete photos. Either your photos are synced to another device using Finder or iTunes or your iCloud photos might be on. Both of the issues are potential software glitches that can be taken care of with proper execution.

Solution 1 – Sync iPhone to iTunes or Finder

One of the easiest ways out is to sync your iPhone to Finder or iTunes. To do so, you must have a PC or a Mac with macOS Mojave 10.14 or higher. Now, open iTunes and look out for the iPhone icon available on the left-hand upper corner of the screen. Here, look out for Photos, and select the albums which you would wish to sync.

Once you are done with the process mentioned above, just sync your iPhone again with the device. With this, the problem with ‘iPhone won’t let me delete photos’ will be solved.

Solution 2 – Switch off iCloud Photos

The only reason why your device is not synced to another device and still the photos won’t delete is that your iCloud photos have been enabled. Dealing with this problem won’t be hectic at all. All you got to do is visit Settings >>Your Name >>iCloud.

Here, you will find the option to select Photos and switch off the toggle near iCloud Photos. This will turn off your iCloud Photos and you will be able to delete your photos again.

Solution 3 – Restart Your Device

However, if none of the solutions mentioned above works for you, then the best thing to do will be to restart your device. This will take care of any software glitches which hasn’t been taken care of by the two processes mentioned above.

If the problem still persists, then the best advice will be to look out for a software update that takes care of the problem. Usually, the problem isn’t this long-lasting but still, if it is hard for you to deal with, then call up your nearest Apple authorized service center and seek help related to the same.

I hope all the problems have been covered well by the article here. Let us know in the comment section if you face any other issues.
