Like every other form of technology, Wifi Calling can prove useful at various times. However, there might be some situations where turning off Wifi Calling might just be in your best interest. But before we understand how to turn off Wifi calling, here is a small overview for you about Wifi calling.

  • To turn off WiFi calling on your iPhone or other Apple devices:

What is Wifi calling?

WiFi calls mostly work just like normal calls do. The only difference is that, when you make a call using WiFi, your device uses the WiFi connection to put the call through, instead of using your phone’s cellular network. WiFi calls can be really useful when there is no tower or there is a problem with your phone’s cellular network.

Also, WiFi calls can come in very handy if you have to make calls to someone living outside your country. Since you will be making the calls over your WiFi connection and not using your cellular network, there will be no additional charges at all.

When is it a good idea to turn off WiFi calling?

You should turn off WiFi calling:

  1. When the cellular coverage is strong enough.
  2. When the WiFi signal is very weak and is not supporting calls.
  3. When the priority is not making calls and you want to save your phone’s battery.

Now, let us come to the aspect of turning off WiFi calling. You will need to do it separately depending upon your device.

To turn off WiFi calling on your Android phone:

  • Pull down the “Quick settings menu” from the top of your phone screen. In most devices, the WiFi calling option will be present in the top right corner of this menu.
  • Click on it to turn it off.
  • In some cases, you might not find the WiFi calling option in the Quick Settings menu. In that case, first, go to your phone settings.
  • In the main menu, or the “Other Wireless Connections” Menu, you will find the WiFi calling option.
  • Click on it and push the toggle button to the left to turn off WiFi calling.

If none of these two options work, you will need to look at the user manual or call customer service for guidance. A lot of people don’t have the patience or time to read long manuals or have long calls with customer services so an online manual at manualsnet.com is an easier and faster way for the utility to share instructions on how to use their product.

To turn off WiFi calling on your iPhone or other Apple devices:

The benefit of Apple devices is that you can manage all of them from a single place. Thus, you can turn off WiFi calls on one or more of your devices all at once. Just follow the simple steps to do the same:

  • Go to your phone settings and look for the option of “WiFi calling.” If you cannot find it there, you will need to swipe right to access the App library.
  • Next, click on the “WiFi calling” option to access the WiFi calling settings.
  • Now, you can move your toggle button left to turn off WiFi calling if it is already on.
  • You can also customize your “WiFi calling preferences while Roaming” option if applicable.
  • If you want to remove a device from WiFi calling, first go to your phone Settings.
  • Then, go to “Phone” and from there head over to the “Calls on Other devices option”.
  • You will now find a list of devices that have access to WiFi calling. Remove the devices as required.
