No one wants to get interrupted while watching videos on the internet. But the uncontrollable buffering makes a person very annoyed at times. One such frustrating problem is often complained about by Facebook users. It has been found that many people using the Facebook app had complained about the videos pausing or freezing while streaming. This is a familiar problem faced by most of the smartphone users.
Now the official Facebook help team suggests that the user may have a problem regarding cache or temporary data issues. But there are no specific reasons mentioned by them. As the reasons may vary from one user to another. Here are some common reasons with their respective solutions behind the buffering of videos on Facebook.

Poor internet connection
Many times it has been found that poor connection results in buffering of the videos. This is the most common reason behind pausing or freezing of a video which streaming online. It is especially legit over a 3G/4G connection but also in the case if many users have connected their phone over the same wifi connection.
Try to disconnect your mobile and put it in aeroplane mode for a while, if it still doesn’t work. Try switching off or restarting your mobile.
Clearing Cache
If your videos keep on getting stuck while playing, you may need to clear the app’s cache. Sometimes the cache of an application gets so much stored that it triggers problem with the functionality of that app. It is more common with apps like Facebook that entirely depends upon the internet. Clearing the cache memory may help rectify the videos getting paused.
- You just need to need to go to the setting menu of the phone;
- Open application manager/ app info & notification, then select app info;
- Locate the Facebook app and open it. You will get all the information regarding Facebook app there;
- Tap on force stop at first. Wait for a moment and let the device force stop the application. After which click on clear cache, wait until it clears the stocked up cache.
Start the Facebook app again and check whether there is a change or not.
If the app still buffers while streaming videos. Then you need to check for any app updates, if there is none then you are left with only one option which is uninstalling the app. Uninstall the app and then reinstall it, login in your account and check whether the problem has been rectified or not.

I wonder why I don’t have such problems with other streaming services, like YouTube. Only Facebook and Twitter freezes after short time and it’s not wiling to load more… I think it’s just a policy – don’t waist money on streaming, people are supposed to scroll through other short posts and adverts.
Facebook Policy is to make You spend money upgrading your hardware as often as possible.
