Fix ‘SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless’ Notification

“SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless,” a common notification that most of the Samsung Galaxy users are getting on their phones. Such constant pop-ups can annoy you, especially when you don’t know why these are occurring and how you can get rid of them. Don’t worry! This blog will guide you to solve this problem. Let’s first hunt the reasons for getting this notification.

What is the reason behind the “SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless” notification?

 If you get to know the reason behind the alerts you are constantly getting on your Samsung device, it will help you find the solution accordingly. There lie two possible reasons for the notification of SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless:-

 #1 Your mobile phone has been locked to the Verizon Wireless carrier, but you have inserted the SIM of any other carrier.

 #2 Your mobile phone has been unlocked from Verizon Wireless. However, the APN has been set incorrectly, and that is why your device is not connected to the network correctly.  

What are the ways to get rid of the “SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless” notification?

 Analyzing the reasons mentioned above, first, try to know what is the reason for your device’s notifications and then accordingly follow the solving process. 

Reason 1: Mobile phone has been locked to the Verizon Wireless carrier

If you have got a mobile that has been locked to the Verizon Wireless carrier, then the only solution to stop these notifications is to unlock the device. Similar to most of the carriers, Verizon also has its unlocking policy that specifies only some of the customers are eligible to unlock the device. Check the policy; it will tell you if you are eligible or not. However, keep in mind that the process can be pricy. 

 Reason 2: Mobile phone has been unlocked incorrectly

If your mobile is not locked to Verizon Wireless, then there are two solutions for this:

 Solution1: Setting the APN

APN stands for Access Point Name that creates a connection between the carrier, device, and internet on your mobile. For an unlocked phone, the solution to stop the Verizon SIM card notification to set the correct APN info that matches up with your SIM card. However, make sure that you follow the right steps to set the APN; otherwise, the network will not work.

 Solution2: Temporary Solution: Force Stop Activation Agent

This is the less risky solution that you can adopt to stop the “SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless” notification. However, this is not a permanent solution to your problem, but surely it will give you a break from these annoying notifications. For doing so, you just have to go to “Application Manager” in your setting and then have to disable all the Verizon apps. 

Conclusion

Having a device that pops up “SIM card is not from Verizon Wireless” notification periodically or constantly can be very exasperating. However, you can fix this problem by getting to the bottom of it. Once you discover the solution, you can easily fix the problem too, either by getting the device unlocked or by setting the APN or by force stop the activation agent.
