Fix Data Service is Blocked Issue

Last updated on January 19, 2020 By Abhijith V M Leave a Comment

Android smartphones are becoming increasingly popular in the world. Out of the total number of smartphones, there are almost more than 50% users using an Android phone. Just like Microsoft Windows the Andoird has become a household-thing.

This is both good and bad for Android and its users. As it has support groups and forums to help you out but it also has lots of bugs that the company cannot rectify due to such large distribution.

In this article we are going to discuss about a particular problem that occurs is some Android smartphones. The error which is mostly shown is somewhat like this “Restricted Access Changed – Data service is blocked”

We will try to look at this issue in a comprehensive manner and then draw out the conclusions from what we get from our investigation. Let us begin.

So while looking at the error we get to know that it is related to some signal problem within the phone or there is a problem with your sim card as the data service is being blocked.

Let’s look at some steps which you can follow to get rid of this error and that irritating notification.

The error sometimes arises due to low signal strength and the phone tries to switch from 4g to 3g network to gain better connectivity. This happens when you are traveling or are in an area where there is no network at all.

In this case, you must try to put your phone on airplane mode and turn it off again and let your mobile find a better network to connect. This will help you regain connectivity and get rid of the “data service is blocked” error.

Sometimes, you can encounter this error even if you are having an excellent network and everything is working fine and suddenly you get this notification. It might be that your network is breaking down a bit.

Also, the notification can be caused by an error in your smartphone. If you use a Wi-Fi you will not get this error as the “data service” will not be used in that case.

If the error still persists even when you are using a Wi-Fi or the data service is stable then you need to use a permanent solution to shut the “data service is blocked” error notification.

You will need to use a third party notification blocker or if your phone has an internal notification blocker then you can use that too. The below steps will help you with the third-party blocker.

  • Download a notification blocker app from Google play. For example, Notification Blocker & Cleaner & Heads-up Off.
  • After installing, open the application and grant access to your notifications and other permissions. Please read carefully before clicking OK.
  • After that, you will see a list of options in which you need to click on “Hide System Apps”.
  • After that save those setting and restart your smartphone.

After restarting the notification error will be gone. Sometimes it stays then you can check again with some other third-party application. But in most cases, the problem will be solved.

For people using a rooted Android device, the process to block a system notification is even easier or I should say direct.

Please comment below if you need any help in this regard or if you are having some other problem in your android smartphone.
