Fix DisplayPort ‘no dp signal from your device’ issue

Last updated on November 24, 2021 By Abhijith V M Leave a Comment

No DP signal is a very frequent issue nowadays. This happens when one tries to connect through a display port to monitor. If you are also feeling disturbed by this issue, here are our solutions to your problem. Check out the below-mentioned details to fix the problem.

Display port is a digital display interference. It can be connected with your device to a monitor to get a more perfect digital performance. Also display ports can be used to move your files and folders like audio, video, documents, and USB.

Now a huge number of users are complaining about the display port having no signal problem. According to a survey, there are some possible causes for this issue. These are mentioned below.

  • Check if your display port is broken or not. If the display port is broken or somehow it is loose, then it’ll work.
  • Another situation is Windows 10. Windows 10 is not supported with a display port. So get an upgrade to your Windows.
  • Another possibility can be a limited refresh rate in your system. If your system is not getting refreshed and lagging somehow, then the display port can’t work properly.

Now there are some possible ways to get rid of this issue. Go through the article to find a prominent solution for your windows.

Table of Contents

  • Restarting the connected device
  • Updating your device driver
  • The refresh rate of the monitor
  • Display port connection disruption
  • New cable or device

Restarting the connected device

It’s the easiest way and the most used way whenever we face some issues on our device. Read the details on how to apply restarting on the device.

  1. Turn off the device
  2. Disconnect all the wires and monitor.
  3. Next, go for unplugging the DP or the display port connection. Wait for a few minutes.
  4. Finally, reconnect the monitor with the display port.
  5. Turn on the power.

Now this time you will not get the display port no signal issue, hopefully. If your problems are continuously ongoing, then go for other processes.

Updating your device driver

You can check your graphics card. Sometimes it is noticeable that the graphics card on the desktop is not the latest updated one. If so, you may face the display port no signal issue. Follow the steps mentioned below to solve this issue.

  1. Right-click on your windows start symbol.
  2. Go to the device manager from here.
  3. Go to the Display adapters and expand this.
  4. Right-click on the display adapter and click the update option.
  5. Follow the on-screen procedures to update to the latest version.

The refresh rate of the monitor

You can go for a change to the refresh rate of your monitor. It’s not that much use but some of the users were good to go for this method.

Display port connection disruption

You need to check properly if your display port is plugged in tightly. A loose connecting port will not work properly and you can face the issue for this reason.

New cable or device

If you didn’t find any of the above software-based issues then go for a hardware check. You can switch your display port to another device if it is in a working state or not.

Hope these above-mentioned methods will be good to go for your no dp signal issues with ease.
